When The Richards Sandy Partnership completed the acquisition of John Yelland and Co it made sense to have everyone under one roof rather than spread over two locations.
In terms of hardware and software, the two businesses were on completely different systems. With the increase in staff members at The Richards Sandy Partnership more pressure was going to be placed on the whole infrastructure, data usage and their current phone system was at full capacity.
I thought the relocation was going to be hard-work from an IT point of view as we worked very differently to John Yelland and Co, I have to take my hat off to the team - the entire transition was both smooth and painless!
With input from our hardware, software and communication teams we were able to plan and execute a project to increase server capacity and processing power, merge the John Yelland data into the current system and move their phone system to a fully hosted cloud solution.
With the increase in data usage a dedicated 20MB Leased Line was installed to deal with the extra data requirements and a converged Fibre line was also put in place to carry the phone data and act as a failover for the Leased Line.
